Rocks in the river

Somethings beg to be photographed in black and white. There were so many different layers and beautiful tones in this river that I was sitting on, waiting for the elk to wake up. It just had to be captured.

Environmental wildlife is definitely my favorite thing to shoot. I love spending time with such amazing creatures and trying to get more than just a headshot to capture them.

Bees and Canola

A beekeeper's hive boxes next to a canola field, what a sweet find for this photographer!

Bugling Elk on the river

You would think that they were fairly secure on their own sandbar with their ladies, but during the rut the Elk have to defend their harem from all angles, all day long. Its hard work to keep the other boys away!

A tree on the shore

The patterns that one can see on the bed of Medicine Lake are always interesting, but never more so than in dry season and with a sullen sky over head to reflect white on the water. You don't often find a tree in the water like this!

Bighorn Sheep Crossing

Be careful not to be too speedy on your scenic drives, you never know when you'll come around the corner to find a Bighorn Sheep Crossing!

Pano of Horseshoe Lake

This is truly one of my favorite places in the whole world! The water here is so so beautiful. The steep rock faces reflect back in their multicoloured glory. It is definitely a hidden gem in Jasper National Park!
